Ednam House dates from 1761. It has been renovated and converted over the years, and is now a premier Scottish Borders’ Hotel. To say it is a hotel, is slightly misleading, for Ednam House needs to be experienced to be fully appreciated. It is perhaps best classified as a boutique hotel, a lavish James Nisbet-designed Georgian Mansion which now welcomes discerning guests. It is owned by Robert and Gina Parker who share an illustrious reputation as owners of award-winning hotels and self-catering accommodation in Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Many of the Georgian mansion’s period feature remain. The property exudes elegance and style, with many spaces that will arrest the senses. It doesn’t hurt that Ednam House is located right on the banks of River Tweed. There are 32 individually designed rooms, ranging from those in the cosy attic to the courtyard rooms and the generously sized Orangery Suite which, like many of the rooms, offers a beautiful view of the river.

With its many special rooms, great dining and beautiful surroundings, it’s little wonder that Ednam House is such a popular choice for those wanting to imbue their wedding day with sophistication, beauty and romance. Indeed, Ednam House takes pleasure and pride in being a unique wedding venue.

Wedding guests will have preferential rates when it comes to rooms. And the happy couple will adore the Bridal Suite. The Bridal Suite boasts the most spacious bedroom of all, unrivalled views of the river and a charming hidden door which leads to a luxurious bathroom.

There are packages available for those who want to hold their wedding at Ednam House. It’s good to note that Ednam House has a spectacular ballroom, which is the largest in the Scottish Borders, and certainly the most elegant. The Ballroom leads directly onto the Pavilion, via beautiful French doors. The Pavilion is ideal for those wanting an outdoor ceremony. Ednam House is filled with appealing areas, many ideal for both classic and contemporary wedding photographs.

Don’t forget Ednam House’s fine culinary endeavours, from the superb dinners at Riverside Restaurant, to the light meals and gourmet delicacies at Pharlanne Delicatessen. The bar is equally inviting, and just the place for your guests to have a talk and laugh. There are sure to be, in any wedding party, those who can’t turn their back on a delightful Afternoon Tea, especially if it’s served with glass of good bubbly.
