| When planning your wedding day, one of the most important choices you will need to make is where to hold the celebrations.
The perfect fairy-tale venue in the heart of the beautiful Scottish countryside is Thirlestane Castle. |
| Situated just 25 miles south of Edinburgh in Lauder, Thirlestane Castle is steeped in history and is a spectacular venue for the most important day of your lives. |
| Built in 1590, and set in stunning grounds, Thirlestane is one of Scotland's oldest and finest castles, and a memorable location for any celebration. |
| Entering the castle up 22 majestic steps of the front main staircase, your guests can't fail to be impressed by the oak-panelled Entrance Hall and the roaring fire emanating from the Aberdeenshire pink granite fireplace. |
| The marriage ceremony takes place in the State Drawing Room which seats up to 110 people, and is the very height of grandeur. A champagne reception will then follow in the oak panelled Main Hall and front esplanade, then onto the magnificent Castle Dining Room (which comfortably seats 60), where our sole caterers Prestige Scotland will prepare you and your guests a luxurious banquet to meet all of your catering requirements. |
| If your wedding party is likely to exceed 60 guests, a luxury marquee (including fully lined interior, floor boards, carpets, chandeliers, covered walkway, and heating) can be erected in the Rose Garden. The marquee can hold up to 210 guests. |
| To make the bride and grooms day even more special, our new, well appointed bridal apartment is now available. Comprising of a spacious, luxurious living room, large bedroom and bathroom, this is the perfect place for the happy couple to retire to after the celebrations, overlooking the front of the castle grounds and parkland beyond. |
